How much paint do I need per m²?
Most wall paints cover about 10 m² per litre per coat, so one coat of a 4 × 3 m room (~42 m² of walls) needs roughly 4 litres. Always check the tin.
Should I subtract doors and windows?
Yes — a standard door is ~2 m² and a window ~1.5 m². The calculator subtracts them automatically so you don't overbuy.
Do I need two coats?
For most colour changes, yes. Two coats give even, full colour; dark or bold colours may need a third coat or a tinted primer.
